Alright, the rule change for the IL boards are now in effect. You may now do IL attempts starting with any power-up except for a star or a p-acorn and for IW attempts, Any% no longer requires every single level to be done. Thank you all for the feedback. All current runs will not be affected at all.

@Sanicbiscuit There already are sub categories to separate Luigi and Nabbit runs.

@Th3Re4l Nothing. All current runs will still exist.

I brought this up in the main discord server but I want to change the rules of IL runs here.

If you read the rules under all of the IL categories, it states that all levels must start as Small Luigi and that all IW categories state that all levels must be completed, including the Any% section of the IWs. The IL leaderboards were created back in mid 2016 by somebody who is no longer a moderator of our leaderboards and made the rules just like that.

The reason I want this rule change is because every other IL boards on the other NSMB games allow levels to start with power-ups and I want this game to follow up with those as well. Let me know about some possible feedback here.

79 is pretty much the fastest time you can get, unless you do penguin strats for other characters.

@LukeTRM 2-6 is the level right before Morton's Castle.

I should make a post of this because I've been getting activities of this as of lately.

Global Rules:

-All runs must require video proof. Submitting YouTube channels, memes, or screenshots are unacceptable. No vid, no did. Submitting splits with video is optional -Abide by all of the category rules -When submitting ILs, the IGT must be visible or your run MAY be rejected. -While NOT required, the run should start within at least a few seconds of the beginning of the video and should end after the credits or resetting to check your file, but it helps prove the run isn't cheated.

After submitting your run, please be patient as it could take a maximum of a week to view your submission as we moderators have priorities outside of speedrun.com. It is okay to let us know that you submitted your run but don't harass the mods about not getting your run accepted. Sometimes, we'll need other mods to view your submission as well.

Any further questions can be contacted through one of us privately or in our community discord server.

But why would 9-1 in this game be fun? It's literally an autoscroller.

1 level from Star world? That's just an IL run which there are IL leaderboards below the full game boards on the sidebar.

For those who have been requesting categories that are too uncommon to be considered being added to the main boards, I've created a spreadsheet that has listed all of the categories that are not on these boards but have been ran at some point. This also includes DX and the original NSMBU game

Alternatively, there's a very unpopular category currently not on the leaderboards called "No Secret Levels" that does not do any of the secret levels to skip ahead of the worlds but it's too similar to All Castles with the exception of the fact that you can skip World 3 and you get to do 5-Airship. Currently I've been the only guy who has done that run and it isn't a very exciting run to see or do.

The game itself is not popular enough to add a milliseconds variable for the competitive times.

@Lachurs and I both have tutorials for every single IL linked on our guides. What is confusing about that? If you have any further questions about our guides, then do not feel obligated to ask us.

Sure, I'm down to adding Small Mario sections on the IL boards.

You can farm starbits in Melty Monster 2. That's easily the best place to grind them. Also if you're going to delete your Any% file, make sure you transfer all of the star bits you have into the bank toad so you don't lose any of them.

California, USAMchan3385 years ago

Yeah sorry, there will most likely be a section in our NSMB Discord where people will be taking about NSMBUDX

There already is one and it's also for the whole NSMB series as well: https://discord.gg/RcuRxSz

Any% No Major Glitches on GBA has the same routing for the most part. The difference is that enemy AI is a little bit different and because the GBA screen is smaller than the SNES screen, room strategies are going to be a little bit different. The biggest difference in GBA NMG is that you pick up gold sword and silver arrows because tempered sword strats for Ganon is not faster in this version.

@MarioFan7464 I removed it off of the boards because it's sort of a 'meme run' that I did one night just for the heck of it. I thought it wasn't worth adding on the boards when nobody else was going to run it.
