This run replaces Catherine with Raphael, saving an explore session used to recruit her. While there is no longer access to Thunderbrand which made some maps in Part 1 easier, Raphael has access to the useful skills Rally Strength and Smite.

The main improvements here would be in the second half of part 1, where a higher strength Byleth would have helped.
