@pandem0nic It’s legal. I don’t recommend it at all and it’s pretty easy to setup with mmc and the mods for a big gain in performance, reset efficiency, and a timer.
yeah but i dont really want to, is it really needed? i dont want to go for any recordbreaking times or anything i just wanna do it as a hobby
no it's not, but even if you aren't going for record breaking times it's still good to have it
it's perfectly fine speedrunning just on vanilla with no mod, lot of people does it, if you don't plan on resetting so heavily as top players to get an epic seed just do as you feel
@pandem0nic It’s not about going for a top time. Vanilla mc has very bad performance compared to an instance with all the legal performance mods which just makes the game more enjoyable. If u don’t want to get all of them I have three that I would highly highly recommend. 1. Timer: https://redlime.github.io/SpeedRunIGT/ 2. Sodium (performance) https://github.com/Minecraft-Java-Edition-Speedrunning/mcsr-sodium-1.16.1/releases/tag/latest download the .jar. 3. Atum (resetting) makes the save and quit button automatically reset the world. To stop resetting go to options and stop resets and quit in the bottom right https://modrinth.com/mod/atum make sure to get the latest 1.16.1 version.
If you have a beefy computer, then using Vanila is fine, but good luck using livesplit, it's quite annoying (when compared to SpeedrunIGT)
I think yes but you might need a timer and fast reset so that's why no one use orgin vanilla to MCSR

yea, @goat_1337 minecraft as a game costs money, in first glance you cannot get a game that costs money for free which is pirating (and people can consider it as stealing)
said that, if you search for it you will likely find tlauncher as a free launcher of minecraft, but just in case because you might end finding it, note that 1. there has been concernes with it containing malware, and 2. it is completly banned in these leaderboards
I've seen some people speedrunning by using the Bedrock Edition and that's free to buy. Is that legal?
Bedrock edition has a separate leaderboard
