A PB of almost 1.5 minutes, and the first PB I've had in this category in three years. This was seed 228, which was pretty good, but it didn't start so great. Between Rydia dying at Octomamm, already having four back attacks before exiting the Antlion cave, and getting the extra Kain text in Fabul, I thought this run was destined to be stuck in the mud. What transpired after that was generally great boss fight RNG, a series of clean menus, and an utterly stunning lack of back attacks in Zot that helped me string together some green splits. The decision to push as hard as possible with the pausing with the goal of hitting 1:39 on the clock for the IGT room paid off in a huge way, as I was able to walk straight through and save another 30 seconds at the very end to cap off a run with a time that I quite honestly did not think I was capable of achieving, but I'm glad to be wrong in this case. It suffices to say that I was incredibly happy to lay this run down.
