So in this run, I hold the "h" key while starting the game which runs the same story files but skips the opening cut scene and starts you at the first tutorial. I decompiled the managed code section and discovered that (at least in the steam version, haven't checked other builds) the developer left in some hotkeys along with "c" for helmet day.
