You could try attaching your Discord account to an email rather than a phone number if that's easier for you.
DM a moderator and ask them to give you the Racer role. The reason phone number is required is that there were some bots, so you can verify you're human that way. Having a role circumvents the phone number requirement. The mods have done this with lots of people. Welcome to the community :)
