I messed around the save's name input screen and found out that you can make the selection go "out of bounds". Now I took a look at it in the game's memory and it turns out that on NTSC-U and PAL you can make the memory value for the selection go nuts with the right inputs.
How-to: Enter save screen, select any file, select the letter V, press left and down at the same time and if the selection disappeared, it's out of bounds. Do the button combination with the DPad, then press Start and then Triangle to exit the screen. Video form:

Some effects carry over even after going to the main menu, so speedrun-wise either a console reset should be forced, or pre-run manipulation should be allowed.

On PAL, the possible combinations only crash or don't do much. On NTSC-J, even though the glitch is possible, the value is capped on 2 of the 3 fonts, and the last one just softlocks when you try anything.

- Anything with this Panic Dash crashes when changing save slot from the topleft one (can still use that one to save/load or add more codes)
- Anything with this Instaboss makes pause menu not have item count
- Anything with this Instawin has stacked first digits on Balls and Dash, but it's just a visual glitch
- Need to save something in save slot 1 before doing the codes or else the game will crash after entering them
Panic Dash - Dash gives you wumpa and powerups all the time, Polars AI is messed up and Melt Panic gives players debuffs all the time (always a positive so it's included in all of these)

Question: Do I need an original, black-label version of NTSC-U Bash or the green-label Greatest Hits version to perform these glitches? Or does it not matter? (I don't have either currently, and would like to know before potentially investing in a copy)
did a prac run on emu for shits, game froze on Jungle fox trophy (i saved b4 just in case) also yes i did do it in reverse order. and then it froze in drain bash trophy after winning 3 rounds by force victory. 1. why did the jungle fox one happen? 2. why did the drain bash one happen?
