In theory yes, it makes sense to go Elemental Air first since it is the closest portal to the spot where the skip occurs. However, potions can be used to save valuable amounts of time there by coming back later.

The question is whether the extra time spent in the starting area and waiting on the jerk bug in Elemental Earth 2 makes this route worth it.

Probably does since enchanted swords saves a huge chunk of time over the old strat with the axe on Elemental Air boss
